The Story
Backyard summer painting session, playing with spray paints and whatever materials I could find in the garage. Mesh, string, bright colours, and a bit of chaos. I love the drips of spray paint here – it gives a gritty edge to what would otherwise be a very feminine colour palette. The charcoal flower with its imperfect coloured details is my favourite part. It’s loose and a bit wonky, which feels right for a piece called Pink Mischief. This was all about experimentation and fun, no rules.
The Creation Acrylic, spray paint, charcoal, and soft pastels. I worked quickly, layering materials without overthinking. The spray paint created those satisfying drips and splatters, while the charcoal grounded it with some hand-drawn elements. The mesh and string added unexpected texture in places. It was messy, spontaneous, and energising – exactly what summer painting should be.
The Piece
Mixed media on canvas Pink Mischief is playful with an edge. The hot pinks and spray paint drips give it an urban, street-art quality that contrasts beautifully with the softer charcoal florals. It’s the kind of piece that adds personality to a space without taking itself too seriously. Perfect for creative spaces, bedrooms, or anywhere that wants a pop of colour with attitude.
